I’m joining WooThemes

I have some really excited news to share today! Starting August I will be joining WooThemes!

Over the past months I’ve learned that the drive to the office at Yoast is something I really struggle with. I realized that working this far from home, being stuck in traffic multiple hours per day, isn’t something that is going to make me happy in the long run.

Recently a spot opened up in the WooCommerce project and since I’ve always been fascinated about e-commerce and the WooCommerce project and I already knew some people inside the WooThemes team it didn’t take long before we had a talk and not much later the papers were signed. At WooThemes I will mostly do WooCommerce development with Mike, who is now probably happy he didn’t sled me of a cliff in Norway earlier this year 🙂

I’m really excited to start working with the great people at WooThemes and to start working on the WooCommerce project!

Post Connector

This new job also means Post Connector will stop being sold at yoast.com and will be sold from its own website soon. Clients with an active Post Connector license will be offered an update in their WordPress panel (version 1.5.2). Post Connector development will continue like it did and clients won’t notice anything in their WordPress website about this change. Also, the automatic plugin updates will still be served to their website through their WordPress plugin panel like it always did. License keys will remain the same.

  1. Congratulations on your new job Barry – hope it goes well. It’s important to enjoy your job, and your commute too.. Sounds like you are leaving for all the right reasons.

Glad to hear you’ll still be developing Post connector, looking forward to seeing what new things you bring to the WooThemes table.

    Cheers
    Mike Hudson

  2. Congratulations Barry!
I know it’s terrible to if you stuck in the dutch traffic everyday. I tried it for 6 month between Doetinchem and Woudenberg. Good luck @woothemes!

  3. Congrats!!!

  4. Congratulations Barry on your new job at WooThemes! 🙂

I am glad that you will continue maintaining Post Connector plugin.

Being a pro subscriber of the plugin, I got little worried after I saw at Yoast website that you have moved on and the plugin is not maintained anymore by them. The link at Yoast pointed me to the plugin’s new website. I went to the website and found no useful information about active clients who brought the plugin from Yoast.

After digging a little, I came here and found information about active clients. Although I am still waiting for an email with the new license (as mentioned by you on this post). I think it should be helpful if you post some information about your plans with the plugin and what’s in store for active clients who brought it from Yoast, at the plugin’s new website.

This will surely help reduce confusion among your active clients coming from Yoast.

May be this is not the correct place to ask this but can you please direct me whom I should contact for support? I am having a little problem updating the plugin. Thanks.

Congratulations again! My best wishes are with you. Continue your good work. 🙂

    • Hey there!

Sorry for the confusion on how to get support, I’ll put up a form on the website soon. I’ve sent you an email with more details on how to get support.

About the license keys, these will remain the same. Simply update your plugin and you’re good to go.

I’ll do a post later this week on the migration to the new website and the new way to contact me for support.

      Thanks for your comment!

Hi, I bought Post Connector from the Yoast website.
I would like to update the plugin so I can use get_children.

How do I update the plugin? Is there a better way to contact you for support?
